about
the BIENNALE
An international design Biennale is hosted every two years in the
town of St Etienne, France in the Loire valley. Created by Saint-Étienne
Town Council and the Regional Fine Art School, the International
Design Biennial has become increasingly successful since it was
launched in 1998. It has become a major event not only within the
Loire region, but also nationally and internationally.
It is intended as a tool for local economic and cultural development,
for its businesses and the relevant professionals.
So many different types of designers and companies from all over
the world take part and display their work. This year it was the
5th edition and took place from November 22nd until December 3rd,
2006.
